Parish Records and Census

Our parish records contained a lot of old and out of date information.  We need to bring our records up to date.  To enable us do this, we will be installing a new database in November.  In preparation for this we will be holding a census on the weekend of 29/30 October at all the masses asking all parishioners to fill in a new Parish Registration Form.  It is essential that you fill in the form otherwise there will be no record of you or your family.  No current information will be electronically transfered over to the new database.  Information given will be kept strictly confidential for parish use only.

Please help the parish maintain up to date records and should there be any changes in the future please do not hesitate to keep the parish informed.

This Parish Registration Form will also be available on the website in the Events section on the right of your screen (before the newsletters).  You will need to download the document onto your computer and save it as a document (or pdf).  Complete the form, attached it to your email and send it to office@saintandrewschurch.co.uk

This form will be available online from the weekend of 29/30 October 2011.

Bishop Howard Tripp blessed our Church Hall

Many thanks to Bishop Howard Tripp for celebrating the 11.30am mass, then went on to bless the newly refurbished Hall and stayed to have lunch with us. It was a joyous occasion to see so many people coming together, bringing food and sharing them with one another. There were loads of food left despite so many people. It was also amazingly impressive to see so many helpers serving food and drinks, constantly clearing up and making sure everything runs smoothly. This really showed family and community spirit on display at its very best by everyone at St Andrew's.
Here are some photos to mark the occasion.

Church Hall renovation completed

Tonight (Friday 30 September 2011) we had a benefactors reception in our newly refurbished hall.  The hall is beautifully renovated with a very modern kitchen, good storage space, bright lighting and a projector for presentations at meetings.  There were also new chairs and some new tables.  We needed £100,000 for the project.  It took us just over six months to raise over a £133,000.  With the surplus we were able to purchase new chairs and some tables.  There are still things to replace and the money will be used wisely to achieve this.
In his speech Fr Francis thanked all parishioners who donated so generously not only financially but also with their support, advice, time and prayers.  The architect and the contractors did a magnificent job.  The work was completed on time and within budget.  Bishop Paul Hendricks was invited to give a short speech.  Two former parish priests of St Andrew's - Canon John O'Toole and Canon John Naughton joined us for the reception.  Also present was Canon O'Dea, our Dean in Coydon.
On Sunday 2nd October Bishop Howard Tripp will celebrate mass at 11:30am and bless the newly refurbished hall.
